Wednesday, April 21, 7PM at UW-Stout, Applied Arts Bldg. Room 210 - Sustainable Dunn and Greensense are showing the films "Fighting Goliath" and "Keeping the Lights On". See how citizen action is successful in preserving the environment. Bake Sale during and Discussion after. Community invited.

Friday, April 23, 7PM at UW-Stout, Applied Arts Bldg. Room 210 - Sustainable Dunn and Greensense are showing "The Power of Community", how Cuba transitioned to a system of organic farming and local urban gardens following the collapse of their economy in 1990. Also, "Homegrown" the story of a family living off grid and producing all their own food. Bake sale during and Discussion after. Community invited.

Sustainable Dunn is presently involved in or supports the following activities happening in Dunn County.

- Several people from Sustainable Dunn meet regularly with the Mayor,  along with the City Administrator, Public Works director and City Council Members. There will be upcoming articles on “green” accomplishments for Dunn County News. There is discussion about Menomonie adopting the Mayor’s Climate Agreement. Click on these links for copies of Mayor's Climate Change Agreementand practical document on how to implement this from the Sierra Club called Cool Cities.

- Dunn County Visioning Natural Group - Sustainable Dunn is involved in the whole process. - Member of Sustainable Dunn are involved with the County Bike Committee that is looking comprehensive bike and pedestrian routes in Dunn County. - We applaud the local LEED certified buildings under construction at the new fire station and at Fairmount Minerals. - Supports buying food locally at such places as Farmer's Markets and the Menomonie Market

- Sustainable Dunn is supporting the Tainter/Menomin Lake Association support of a phosphorous free fertilizer bill under consideration by the Wisconsin Legislature. - Encourages people to be involved in hunger issues and projects such as Bread for the World

- Supports UW Stout's Green Sense group that is planning programs during Earth Week on April 19 (Parent’s Weekend) and April 22. Look for more detailed information. - Sustainable Dunn has committed to organize quarterly education programs on various topics. - Working with the Menomonie School District to provide an in-service on environmental issues. - Speakers are available to talk about The Natural Step for communities to various community groups. - A monthly article dealing with environmental issues is published in the Dunn County News.

- Supports the Northwest Wisconsin Regional Food Network. NWRFN supports local growers and tries to enhance and expand their local markets.
